spot pug in the dark below the Turner Classic Movie scene
If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. —Bruce Lee
It’s Mars Day! Hence the Bruce Lee quote. I love that Dax, Harpo’s brother was dressed in a red (mars color) bandana today without them even knowing about the color red and mars connection.
So here I am back in the backyard in Huntington Woods, Michigan still enthralled with all the birdsongs and hoping to hear an owl or two if I sit here long enough. I don’t want a life or location where I don’t wake up to bird songs. In my previous NYC, West Village incarnation, my favorite morning ritual was waking up and walking to my favorite Italian sidewalk cafe, Sant Ambroeus (before it became this trendy NYC chain—back then, they only had 2 locations in the city) and passing this amazing tree filled with the most glorious bird songs.
I just had this phantom feeing of Harpo sitting at my feet (for new readers, Harpo was my beloved soul animal, sidekick, travel companion, and superhero protector all in one mighty little black pug with the most perfectly round head). He was Mars incarnate. Even wore a bright red Mars Service animal getup. This is my second summer without him and there will never be another soul protector like him!
Funny, I didn’t intend to write about him in this post, but here we are! This ongoing Saturn-Neptune conjunction is just hitting all the nostalgic notes. Being born a Neptunian as I am (Neptune rising at my birth) and a Pisces Moon, plus 12th house planets galore, nostalgia is my realm always. Speaking of which, the Moon is in Pisces today so if you’re also feeling the nostalgia, the longing, the missing, you’re not alone!
